Jackie’s love of clothes came from growing up amid the historic woollen mills of Yorkshire. Her Grandmother was a factory machinist, Jackie would watch her working on a hand-turned Singer sewing machine, the slow, careful detail of the process igniting Jackie’s love of designing and making clothes.
After selling her first fashion collection pieces at the age of just 17, Jackie went on to gain a Fashion Design first-class honours degree from the University of Northumbria. Relocating to London, Jackie worked for fashion retail giant Marks & Spencer and then took a position at the celebrated design studio at renowned Maria Grachvogel, where Jackie created bespoke pieces for music and fashion icon, Madonna.
Jackie was talent-spotted by the celebrated fashion house, Maxmara, who offered Jackie a womenswear designer role. Jackie relocated to Italy to design their luxury outerwear and knitwear collections. Within months, Jackie’s collections were being featured on catwalks, in fashion magazines and luxury stores worldwide. Traveling around Italy at weekends visiting vintage markets, Jackie would often see her designs in the window displays of the Maxmara flagship boutiques, an amazing achievement for a passion which began at 8 years old.
Returning to the UK, Jackie designed womenswear at Nougat London, designing seasonal collections of intricately designed styles, working with the finest cloths. Regular research, fabric buying and manufacture visits to Paris, Italy, New York, Hong Kong and China allowed Jackie to work with diverse cultures and experience global trends through the seasons.
In 2018, Jackie fulfilled her life-long ambition of founding an elegantly timeless, contemporary collection under her name, Jackie Maguire.
Now, elegant, wearable Jackie Maguire garments and accessories are being worn by women and famous names alike. Women who want clothes that make them feel amazing, clothes that are made with care and attention, designed to fit and flatter and be worn again and again.
