Our Values

I started Jackie Maguire because I wanted to grow a fashion business that worked in a sustainable way and had strong ethical values. For me, fashion has always been a way of expressing creativity and individuality, but not to the detriment of the world around us.

Having 20 years or so experience working as a fashion designer, designing collections for world-renowned global designer brands, to much loved British high street brands, I have seen first hand the detrimental effect the fashion world can have to the environment and it's communities.

I wanted to prove that things could be done differently, and so I adopted a 'slow fashion' ethic, where we produce our clothes in very small amounts, as and when needed, in order to minimise waste. This also means that our clothes are priced fairly, for a high quality product, as there is no big marketing budget which would usually increase the price of the garment.

We use quality, fine fabrics in our collections, including Harris Tweed from the Outer Hebrides, pure wool woven in West Yorkshire, alongside Liberty Tana Lawn cotton, which we love to use for it's fine quality and it's glorious seasonal prints.

Our pieces are thoughtfully designed, bringing together a melting pot of flattering silhouettes with a timeless quality with vintage inspiration, and a touch of understated detail. All with the ultimate aim of creating clothes that will inspire you, and become the pieces you will want to wear time and time again.
